RainWater Benefits
Have you noticed that after a rainfall plants seem greener, cleaner and lusher? That’s because rainwater has benefits for plants that tap water simply cannot deliver. That’s why you should water your plants with rain water or even move them out in the rain ( when is no strong winds or storms that can damage the plants).
-Rain is soft water free of salts, minerals and treated chemicals which are typically found in tap water. The chemicals once soaked in to the soil can build up over time altering the soil pH and killing beneficial microbe/fungal communities.
-Rainwater naturally is around a Ph 7 scale, the ideal Ph for plants. Also the rainwater aids in flushing out chemicals in the soil, as a result of watering with tap or groundwater, helping balance out the soil pH
-Rainwater is rich in all the right things. Contains Nitrogen and Oxygen which is the key to keep plants green and healthy. Plus, micronutrients and minerals, which are already present i8n the soil, are unlocked by the rainwater soaking through and then really absorbed by the plants roots.
-Rainwater washes off any dust or debris on your indoor plants leaves helping clear out the pores(somata). This greatly improves their ability to take in CO2. And nutrients for photosynthesis promoting health plant growth.
Ps. If rainwater isn’t an option, don’t stress. Dechlorinated water from the tap its another grate and health option for your indoor plants. Simply fill up a bucket of tap water and leave it sit for a day or two, the chlorine found in the water will naturally evaporate. :)
